Tim Burchett's Weakness at NewsNation Town Hall Exposes GOP Complacency in Congress

NewsNation hosted a town hall event featuring Chris Cuomo, Bill O'Reilly, and Stephen A. Smith. During the discussion, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), a professing Christian, made waves by referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—the communist congresswoman from New York—as his "buddy." "I can respect a liberal," Burchett said. "I respect Cortez, she's my buddy. I mean, she's a Marxist. She's a friendly neighborhood Marxist, I always call her." He went on to mention another communist congressman as a friend, underscoring his willingness to build relationships across ideological lines—even with those who embrace far-left political doctrines. Burchett is known to make CNN anchors look foolish with a nonchalant demeanor while exposing their lies and propaganda. While that is all good and dandy, his remarks at the Town Hall show me Burchett does not know what time it is, "WE ARE AT WAR" with these people.

Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, Congress convened to vote on a resolution honoring his life and denouncing political violence. During the proceedings, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to the House floor to oppose the motion. In her speech, she launched a defamatory attack on Kirk's character, falsely portraying him as a racist and a bigot—an effort clearly aimed at undermining the recognition of his legacy. That is evil, and Tim Burchett wants us to get along with sociopathic beings who want us dead. AOC defames Burchett's brother in Christ, and he wants to walk down the yellow brick road and sing Kumbaya. What Burchett and other Republicans do not realize is that the Democrat party of old is gone. The Democrat Party of today wants us in prison or dead. They look at Charlie Kirk as "good riddance, that's one less conservative." Charlie Kirk said it himself on X: "You can tell a lot about a person by how they react when someone dies."

We are living in a moment where Democrat mayors and governors are openly defying the federal government, defying federal law, and are putting federal agents in harm's way by openly encouraging violence towards them. JB Pritzker, the governor of Illinois, went on the news and threatened to prosecute ICE agents and members of the Trump administration. In many left-leaning cities, judges and district attorneys are routinely declining to prosecute violent offenders, allowing disorder to spread among law-abiding citizens. Their inaction suggests a troubling tolerance—if not outright intent—for the rise in criminal activity. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News yesterday, "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals." That is true. The Democrats thrive on disorder. Violence, division, and moral decay are tools to destabilize society and weaken those who stand for faith, family, and freedom. And yet, where are the Republicans? Too many of them- the "boomer" class of politicians - are asleep at the wheel. They are more worried about civility optics than confronting evil. It is time for a new generation of conservative leaders who understand that our country is at risk if we do not obliterate and purge this evil and demonic left-wing ideology from our nation's political apparatus. So, ask yourself, Tim, if you were ever attacked or murdered by one of the left-wing radicals, what would your "buddy" AOC say about you then? Would she mourn you, mock you, defame you, or justify the attack? That question alone should tell you everything about who these people really are - who's truly at war with us.
